I recently had the chance to photograph Angelica—a talented local longboarder who not only helped me out on a commercial shoot, but has also been patiently guiding

me as I try to improve my own longboarding skills! We decided to shoot a little something just for fun and ended up creating some really special images together.

We kicked things off with a few vibrant portraits to capture her personality and style. Then, with the afternoon sun softening, we played around with some movement shots as she cruised the beachfront streets in her newly gifted Vans gear. Angelica’s effortless style on a skateboard made these shots feel alive—full of energy and flow.

As the light began to shift, we headed into the ocean for a spontaneous surf session. The sky gave us a real gift—sunset behind us, and a full moon rising over the horizon. With my water housing in hand, we captured the dreamiest moments of Angelica dancing on her board in golden light.

This shoot was a blend of creativity, movement, and great company—and a reminder of how magic often happens when we’re simply having fun doing what we love.
